Upcoming Guest Speakers
Monday Dec 20 2010
Hi All,
HO HO HO, it's me again. We have lots of good upcoming speakers coming up. This Monday is a great guest speaker who spoke to our club years ago. Ryan was a Rotary Exchange Student (White Rock Club) and an Ambassadorial Scholar (Semiahmoo Club). He's had an interesting life and says he owes a huge debt to Rotary, especially the local Rotary Clubs.
He's back in White Rock for Christmas and will be talking to our club on Monday. Bring a guest or two, it will be very interesting presentation.
Also, don't forget your food bank items!!!!!
Next month, we have two especially good presentations to bring guests to. January 3rd and January 24.
GORD - Please remember to invite tell the other Local Rotary presidents about the talk on January 10. There is a group of people coming to do this presentation and they would like people from all the Rotary Clubs to be there.

Rotary Club of Vancouver Chinatown Christmas lunch
On behalf of President Rick Gilbert you and the members of your Rotary club are invited to join us to celebrate Christmas and support people in Vancouver's downtown eastside.
The annual Rotary Club of Vancouver Chinatown Christmas lunch is one of the most popular Rotary celebrations of Christmas in Vancouver. Please join us this year on December 15th at the Floata Chinese Restaurant in Chinatown at 400-180 Keefer Street.
Last year more than 300 Rotarians and friends of Rotary joined us to celebrate Christmas and support our neighbours in Vancouver’s downtown eastside. This year we are again partnering with the Salvation Army Harbour Light to support those that are living on the streets in our community.
We will be entertained by the Salvation Army Brass Ensemble who will play the sounds of Christmas.
The cost of the lunch is only $20.00. You are asked to bring pairs of new socks or a cash (credit card or cheque) gift for the Salvation Army. The socks will be distributed as part of the Rotary Club of Vancouver Quadra’s shoe clinic project in the downtown eastside.
Lunch is from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm, there is free parking. Walk from P4 of the parking garage directly into the restaurant. Children and families are welcome and encouraged. Due to the large group that attends this event please arrive early.
What can you do?
- Please distribute the attached flyer to your club members
- Announce the event at your meeting
- Post the event on your website and in your club newsletter
We have sent this to club presidents outside of the lower mainland as we know many of your members will be in Vancouver during December and may want to join us.
